How we get the personal information and why we have it
Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:
· To carry out an inspection followed by a written survey report on a residential property.
We may also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:
· A Legal advisor, financial or mortgage advisor, Property manager, Search agent, Estate Agent or other property professional where they are in contact with a person or persons regarding a residential property.
We use the information that you have given us in order to provide a quote to carry out a survey on a property and to carry out a survey on a property.
We do not share this information with any other organisations or individuals without your prior consent.
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:
(a) Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting us using the contact details provided at the beginning of this Policy statement.

How we store your personal information
Your information is securely stored.
We keep names, telephone numbers, emails and residential addresses for up to 15 years. We are required by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) to keep client files for an absolute minimum of six years from the date on which we completed the work, and best practice is to keep them for 15 years. We will then dispose of your information by deleting the files from cloud storage and hard drive storage and shredding any paper files.
